Cap-Tourmente National Wildlife Area

Discover the reserve's 20 km network of hiking trails. Some 180species of bird, including the famous Great Snow Goose during the migration period, have been listed in this natural setting.

Thanks to the convergence of the River, plains and mountains Cap-Tourmente National Wildlife Area is a place of outstanding beauty and it offers countless opportunities for observing nature in complete safety.  The area is recognized as a wetland of international importance under the RAMSAR Convention and is famous for the breathtaking spectacle offered by the tens of thousands of Snow Geese that stop over every spring and fall.  The protected area is home of a rich animal biodiversity of all kinds, as well as flora. A network of hiking trails for the whole family make Cap-Tourmente an ideal natural setting to flirt with wildlife, all this less than an hour’s drive from Quebec City.

The health and safety of visitors and employees is of the utmost importance to Environment and Climate Change Canada.

Only the hiking trails and the toilets are accessible. All interpretation activities are suspended until further notice.


Period of operation : 

Late April through late October, everyday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Weekends and winter school breaks from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
