AGROTOURISM
The Route de la Nouvelle-France and particularly the Côte-de-Beaupré region, has a storied agricultural past that can be traced back to the First Nations, who grew corn, squash, and beans there. New France’s first settlers occupied the fertile farmland, and Samuel de Champlain set up the first livestock farm in the St. Lawrence Valley in 1626 at Cap Tourmente. Now with one eye firmly on the future, today Côte-de-Beaupré specializes in growing its mouth-watering local products more than ever.
